Jacob's family by Rev. Justin Clarence
Genesis 37: 1-11
Jacob's family is an example of a dysfuntional family. Jacob was passive in reprimanding his children when they were at fault. He did nothing to protect his own daughter's dignity (Gen 34:1-2). He was a biased father, showing favourtism towards certain children. They grew up to be disobedient and cruel, developing hatred towards one of their own siblings.
Dysfunctional families often endup like this - rivalry among children, divorce, addictions, child abuse, spouse abuse. Good parenting results in good values being inculcated in the children. God bless.
